This band is more than just a Drake reference. You Only Live Once is a curious mix of pop, hardcore rock, and everything in between, and they just get better with age. The Los-Angeles based group has been featured on talent shows such as American Idol, X Factor, and America’s Got Talent, as well as headlined for some major bands.
YOLO may look sweet, but their music packs a serious wake-up punch. Formed from two sisters, their style jumps from the seriously heavy rock feel like found in their song, “Do or Die” to dance-rock anthem, “Lost Me At Goodbye”, in a heartbeat. A sound to rival mainstream bands like Paramore and the like.

Stemming from a theater background, Kiirstin was meant to shine on the stage. As a former cast member of the Broadway show, “Cabaret”, Kiirstin has tested the limits of her creativity in every outlet she could. After several bands came and went, the true calling for Kiirstin was revealed – as a performing artist singing her heart out on stage.
Since going solo, Kiirstin has performed all over the world, acted in several short films, and released several EP’s, one boasting the popular music video, “For Peace”.
She continues to gain recognition in the production of her records, energetic live performances, and edgy brand. Her music continues to walk the line of jazz, pop, rock, and soul; such a sexy blend mixed with sultry vocals, you can’t help but get sucked in and wanting more.
Kiirstin is currently on tour supporting her latest single, “SHE”.
WASI; A Riot Pop/Punk duo, with a voice that speaks to the misfit in all of us. Known for their energetic shows, and uplifting music, WASI never fails to provide a sense of understanding and encouragement for those trying to figure out where they fit. Based in Los Angeles, WASI’s music channels the SO CAL spirit, Bringing you back to those “nights of skinny dipping and angsty garage punk shows”. Ever the rebellious nature, Jessie and Merilou use their music to hone in on social activism, giving their music a whole new level of depth and dialogue. WASI is a band that that gives that punk sound and feeling we all love an even greater dynamic
Jessie & Merilou produce music that speaks from the voices of those who are trying to be understood during their own tender time.
WASI’s latest album “COUP” available now on their Conquer page!
1.Tell us a bit about yourselves. Where you come from, where you’re going. How did you guys come together?
We’re based out of Los Angeles, CA but we both met in Orange County. We met in high school to basically form an a punk band called The Midol Poppers. We just released our 2nd EP, COUP, that we’re really psyched about!
2.What have been some of the biggest influences for you and your music? Where does your inspiration come from?
Some of our biggest influences are Matt and Kim, Le Tigre, MIA – bands that deliver both in the music and lyrics as well as the live show. We love it when bands can break the barrier between performer and audience, and I think it inspires us to try to be the same in our shows as well.
3.For those who haven’t heard your music, how would you describe your sound in one sentence?
We can our music riot-pop aka So Cal Dance Punk. We always find ourselves touching base with topics that mess with the status quo, and we do our best to be loud about it (especially at our live shows) while honing in our love for pop music.
4.Being in a band is a huge change in dynamic from being a solo musician. What would you consider the biggest benefits of being in a band?
We write everything as a duo, and yes, bringing the songs to a live band context really makes things exciting for us. Creating a dynamic in a live show that can deliver the point of the songs is fun and challenging at the same time, and we always love the musicians we get to share the stage with. It’s about communication, chemistry and everyone being in tuned with the same goal which is – for a WASI show – to create a whole entire different world for ourselves and our audience. A space that is safe, enlightening and infectious.
5.Do you have any advice for fans trying to make it in music?
For anyone pursuing music, I think the number one thing to hold onto is to have fun authentically. It’s so easy to get caught in the craziness of the “industry”, but your parth is only going to be as rewarding as you are present for it, and it’s way more rewarding, and in a way even easier, if you go about it authentically. You find yourself around real people and musicians who also approach it the same way, and it just makes the whole journey it’s own incredibly unique and fun experience.
6.Got any upcoming events or projects we should be excited for?
We just released a new music video to our track Floor Talk which you can view here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-m3A6OMuYA. We have another music video in the works and we’re also going to strip it down and are working on some acoustic material for those bonfire vibes this summer!
Shiragirl, made her worldwide debut of her new solo show “Hot Dates” in the 2017 Hollywood Fringe at Three Clubs on 1123 Vine St. Hollywood, CA on June 4th.
“Hot Dates,” directed and co-created by Natalie Mitchell, with creative consultant Deana Barone, details memorable moments in the life of a Bisexual Jewish American Ivy League Punk Rock Pothead Princess. Interspersed with dating sc enes, Shira takes us on a journey of her life, from her girlhood milestones to attempted womanhood. The show features song, dance, storytelling and mischief.
Shira is proud to be popping her Hollywood Fringe cherry; she has been a prior participant in NYC and Philly Fringe Festivals. Shira studied theater at University of Pennsylvania, and Goldsmiths College in London. After graduating, Shira formed an all-girl band and crashed the Warped Tour as Shiragirl. She created the Shiragirl Stage for female artists, where she shared the stage with artists from Joan Jett to Paramore. This earned Shira an MTV Warpie award, and a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Having relocated from Brooklyn to Hollywood in 2014, Shira is happy to be coming back to her theater roots, with her new show “Hot Dates.”
Music for each individual is a very unique and different experience. Everyone has an artist that stands out above the rest. If I had a category for best female artist my vote would go to Laney Lynx.
Her unique style is not defined by one genre of music. Her sound tends to sway towards pop but it has an electric and soulful sound as well. Her music draws you in, makes you want to dance and sing along. Her newest single lovesick takes you through a journey of what it feels like when we have those butterflies in our stomach for the first time meeting that special someone.
My favorite song “Perfectly Flawed” reminds us all that there is no perfect person we all are flawed in one way or another but it is those flaws that make us unique and different. Those flaws help us to stand out.
So what exactly is Dueling Piano? Well I’m sure you’ve seen those awesome scenes in movies; two people sitting at separate pianos, jamming away at the keys to see who can play better and faster. As far back as the 1890’s, ragtime piano players would literally duel in front of a crow to prove themselves the better pianist.
In 1933 the first official Dueling Piano bar was opened in New Orleans, Pat O’Brien’s Bar, still open today! From there the Dueling Piano became an actual show where two piano players take turns singing songs requested by the audience, by writing them down on napkins.
Today Dueling Pianos are a fun, high energy show with emphasis on audience participation; performing songs across all genres. A show really unlike any other!
Conquer Artist Missy Lynn is an insanely talented musician who performs each week at dueling Piano Bar “Keys On Main” in Salt Lake City, Utah.
At Keys on Main, we entertain with a live, all request dueling piano show. No set lists, no rehearsal, just 2 performers & 2 pianos taking what the audience requests. With each request the audience can decide what they would like to tip the performers and the highest tipping songs get played first. If there is a song that a table or members of the audience do not like, they can stop that song by outbidding its original tip by one dollar. This is the true nature of the “dueling” the audience competing to get their songs played first.
Dueling Piano Bars provide a unique and more interactive form of entertainment than music joints these days, and with more than 200 around the country, there is lots of opportunity to check it out. So next time you and the buddies need something to do. . . Well you know what to look out for!
Blasting out of every speaker in my house is my new obsession Million Young.
Mike Diaz of MillionYoung lives in Miami Florida. MillionYoung is a fresh new sound that combines traditional instruments like guitar and fuses them with funk and electronica into one tropical soundscape masterpiece. When you listen to MillionYoung you are transported to downtown Miami Cruising with the top down listening to the sounds of the city. Honestly ,I get the feeling of being in Miami when I listen to the song hammock. You can tell that his environment influences his music. Which is great, because who doesn’t love Miami?
Vocally , MillionYoung reminds me of indie rock bands from the early 2000 which is slightly nostalgic. However it’s funky dance, up beat rhythm, gives it a fresh contemporary feel which truly in compasses what Miami is all about. No surprise that MillionYoung has been described as chillwave the sound that is trending right now.
Another favorite song is “Cynthia”. The beat of this song is reminiscent of trance music which gives it a cool dreamlike quality. MillionYoung sounds like it should be playing in a high-end Fashion Boutique. If you listen closely you can hear what sounds like a xylophone giving it almost innocent quality that’s clear and refreshing.
MillionYoung is no rookie when it comes to performing since his EP album in 2009 entitled, “SunnDreamm” he is had a wide variety of performances. His experience includes touring internationally, and performing at live music festivals.
Currently, MillionYoung is working on his fourth album entitled,” Rare form”
