Straight out of Los Angeles, California comes Eye the Realist, a female fronted progressive pop rock band. Eye the Realist combines members from many different genres such as pop, acoustic, hardcore, metal, and rock.

A progressive pop/rock female fronted band. Based out of Los Angeles, Calif. with catchy/energetic vocals, driving guitars, smooth edgy bass lines, and dynamic/progressive styled drums.

Here is their latest hit “Perfect Permission” taken from the new album ‘Strains’

Josie Randle, an African American female who fronts Eye the Realist, provides melodic catchy vocal melodies and driving rhythm guitars. Connected with former drummer Mark Matas who helped write and record their EP. Thru their commanding/progressive drums comes a great dynamics that raises the bar on the LA pop-rock scene. Hunter Valentine, or as I’d like to think of them, Wonder Women of rock n’ roll, started their journey as a band nearly a decade ago, and it has taken them all over the world, performing with legends, and even a stint on reality tv.

Valentine has shared the stage with the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Sum 41, and Sick Of Sarah, been featured in several reality shows; SHOWTIME’s “The Real L Word”, and VH1’s “Make or Break:  The Linda Perry Project”, and conquered Warped Tour 2014 with us as one of our female-fronted rock bands.  Their super charged rock style, no fuss attitude, and awesome personalities have brought their career to unimaginable highs in their ten-year career.

‘Learn to Be’ by Brian Mackey

Brian relaxes between songwriting sessions
Songwriting is challenging

Singer/Songwriter: Brian Mackey

When you first meet Brian Mackey, he comes across as a relaxed guy at peace with the world. Asking him to rely what he’s creating lately and his numerous accomplishments gets you smooth responses without any hint of arrogance, this even with his recent success of his track “Are You Listening” in Europe. Brian is more focused than ever at getting his music out to the world to hear. With a growing audience in Germany, Norway and other parts of Europe, he sends his unique voice to wherever the fanbase lives. Building on his own life experiences and of those around him, this singer/songwriter delves into the darkest and saddest places to create a sound that is pop-infused rock mixed with a voice that is reminiscent of the late Jim Croce.  Below is his latest example of that talent in the official release of his latest music video, ‘Learn To Be’.

Brian Mackey knows there are few things in life as brutal as a breakup. Once we’ve become accustomed to the support of a partner, we can find it nearly impossible to stand alone; it’s no great exaggeration to say that we’re forced to learn to walk again. But emotional turbulence has often prompted gripping, forthright art, and Mackey’s latest single is just that kind of a song. “Learn To Be” is an aching, unflinching look at dependence within a troubled relationship – the lament of a man who is searching for a lost sense of self in the long shadow of his partner. It’s exactly the sort of writing we’ve come to expect from Mackey, an earnest chronicler of the human heart whose private reflections always have universal dimensions.

SONGBIRD – RACHEL MENCONI

Cabaret Artist: Rachel Menconi

Songbird is an accurate comparison to the ever talented Rachel Menconi. Rachel is a master vocalist with over 20 years of vocal training and experience; as well as acting, songwriting, directing, and script-writing. A passion, and talent for the arts in every facet.

As a performer, Rachel has 20+ years of experience including originating the role of “Antigone” in “Oedipus: The Musical” (NYC). GOOD OL ROCK ‘N ROLL FREEDOM

Rock Artist: Fifth Freedom

There’s nothing like listening to some Led Zeppelin driving down the road on a summer day.  Fifth Freedom is the perfect soundtrack for your summer rock and roll sessions!  Originally from Maine, Fifth Freedom has been rocking out since 2000, and joined our roster in 2012.

Headed by energetic front-man, Alan Jones, adds even more to their aggressive and in-your-face tone on vocals, and they make it known they’re not afraid of risks lyrically to show their human side.  Their latest release, “Heartbreak And Hellfire”, is accompanied by a summer tour throughout Maine, New England, and Massachusetts.

ROCK POP DANCE IN ONE BAND? YOLO!

Rock Artist: YOLO

This band is more than just a Drake reference.  You Only Live Once is a curious mix of pop, hardcore rock, and everything in between, and they just get better with age.  The Los-Angeles based group has been featured on talent shows such as American Idol, X Factor, and America’s Got Talent, as well as headlined for some major bands.

YOLO may look sweet, but their music packs a serious wake-up punch.  Formed from two sisters, their style jumps from the seriously heavy rock feel like found in their song, “Do or Die” to dance-rock anthem, “Lost Me At Goodbye”, in a heartbeat.  A sound to rival mainstream bands like Paramore and the like.

CRIS VALKYRIA “OUT OF THIS WORLD”

Alternative Artist-Cris Valkyria

Sometimes an artist creates a sounds that is so remarkably unique that you just can’t possibly tie it down to one genera. Cris Valkyria – is just that! She is simply and refreshingly un-categorizable.

Born and raised in Norway, graduating with a degree in Psychology, traveling the world, and finally settling down in Philly; Cris now shows off her musical talents as lead singer of the band “Valkyrians“. Though the bands foundation is in the Alt-Rock genre, Cris takes it for a spiral with her sweet sound, and folky tone. Staying true to her Scandinavian roots, Cris gives an almost elven, otherworldly vibe with her voice. Injecting a fantasy style undertone into otherwise rock driven music.

Valkyrians is a Philly-based band that has established a reputation of a band hard to categorize, but with a memorable sound.

So aside from having a really cool name, Cris is an artist who pushes genre boundaries. The unique sound of her music gives off an ethereal sort of impression, and unique genre-crossing flare. Her Nordic, old word vocals, mixed with the alt-rock sound of the Valkyrians shows something truly unique.

SKUNK RUCKUS

Country/Rock Band : Skunk Ruckus

The release of their second album on May 11th, “Pearls Before Swine” really showcases the band’s unique style and lack of concern when it comes to crossing genres and breaking the rules of sterile formula based music. It’s a gret combination of old school Appalachian Mountain Music and the free expression of punk rock.

Originally a duo with Jim McCarthy on Banjo and stomping a kick drum along with Max Steel on bass, the current configuration has the addition of drummer, Claude Coleman, Jr. and Dave Gilbert on electric guitar. With Jim’s gut-singing vocal style the sound is awesome and you can’t compare it to anything out there, definitely unique and hard to put in any kind of descriptive box.
I think sometimes as regional musicians you end up in performance situations that vary dramatically in regards to the engagement of your audience. Sometimes you’re a rockstar and sometimes you’re background noise for the drinking crowd. The title of this new album comes from a situation Jim McCarthy was quoted as saying, “We were playing a show and just kicking the crap out of it,” he says. “And no one was responding. We might as well not have been there. And then Dave leaned over and said, ‘We are giving these guys gems!’ And I said, ‘Pearls before swine!’” It was all meant in good-natured fun, but the phrase stuck and ended up as the album title.”

The Ruckus boys are playing all up and down the East Coast and the Carolinas, if you have the chance to catch one of their shows you will not be disappointed. HillBilly Rock-N-Roll is alive and well!
