Living Legend – Willie Nelson

Another Platinum Artist to join the Conquer Platform, legendary singer-songwriter Willie Nelson is now available here at getconquer.com!

Willie is the one behind some of the biggest country hits out there, including “Crazy” and “On the Road Again”. Willie started his career as a songwriter, but rose to the forefront of the stage in the 1960’s when he helped contribute to the “Outlaw Country” sub-genre, which was basically a war on Nashville conservatism.

Willie has lived a long, award winning career, becoming one of the most influential singer songwriters of all time. He has written countless popular country songs, which have been covered by artists all across the board, for half a century. Now at the age of 84, Willie Nelson continues to record, perform, and write new songs; as well as supporting various charities and political causes.

My doctor tells me I should start slowing it down – but there are more old drunks than there are old doctors so let’s all have another round.

The Young Sheriff – Faron Young

Happy to announce country legend, Faron Young, as the latest Platinum Artist now available at getconquer.com!

A huge player in the world of Nashville country music, Honky Tonk singer Faron Young was not an idle man by any means. A musician, a businessman, an actor, and a soldier; he took his love for music and payed it back ten fold.

Young really started seeing the limelight when he joined as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, was signed by Capitol Records, and went on to join the army as a member of the Entertainments Unit, boosting morale as he sang to the troops during the Korean War. It wasn’t long before Young started coming out with hit after hit, maintaining his streak clear into the 1970’s;  his first number one single being “Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young”.

Young also began acting in many western themed films, his most notable role being in “Hidden Gun” where he obtained the lasting nickname “The Young Sheriff”.

Throughout his life, Faron invested a great deal in the city of Nashville. Founding Music City News, running a booking agency, funding book and music publishers, real estate, race tracks; but despite all of his business ventures Faron continued to perform the music that he loved. And you can find that music right here on GetConquer.com

Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young (And Leave A Beautiful Memory)

“The Bad Guy with the Big Heart” – Waylon Jennings

Known as a sort of musical rebel, Waylon Jennings is credited with popularizing the gritty, rock-influenced sound of outlaw country music. At every turn he challenged the status quo of country music, turning down and losing record labels due to his unwillingness to conform. This and his party heavy lifestyle led him to be labeled as an “outlaw” in the world of country. Now this outlaw’s music is here to stay, as an official Platinum Artist here on getconquer.com!

Jennings’ Outlaw style takes on a tough, bass heavy sound; breaking away from the tighter production of traditional country music for something more raw and edgy, such as his first number one hit “This Time”.

Jennings brought something all his own to the table, and we can definitely respect that steadfast desire to make music his way, regardless of what was expected or popular at the time. People likened him to a villain, but that black hat represents a hero for the rebellious, and the innovative.

Don’t ever try and be like anybody else and don’t be afraid to take risks.

Hey Y’all: Celebrating Country!

Dust off your cowboy boots, pull out your hats get ready for some good country music with a side of BBQ to celebrate National Cowboy Day! July 22nd was the day for celebrating the western lifestyle, and honoring cowboy roots. We are going to the place that has it all “TEXAS”!

Country music is not hard to find in Texas. There are however some historical locations that make you feel like everybody is somebody. That is right I am talking about Luckenbach. Know for its old west style saloon, dance hall & general store located in Fredericksburg, TX. It all started back in the summer of  1973 when Jerry Jeff Walker, along with the Lost Gonzo Band, recorded the live album Viva Terlingua at the Luckenbach dance hall. The album became an outlaw country classic. Later in 1977, after Crouch’s death in 1976, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson vaulted Luckenbach in the national spotlight with the #1 country and #25 Pop charting song “Luckenbach, Texas” (Back to the basics of Love)

Texas barbecue has no peer on earth. Usually they are small establishments with little décor but the warmest atmosphere and delicious food that will have you coming back to savor over and over. Once in a while you will find them located out in a field with picnic tables seating over 800 and a barbeque sauce that has no tomatoes so it won’t burn. The Salt Lick has over 50 years’ experience cooking their slowly over an open fire fed by live oak. On a Saturday night you may have a little bit of a wait they serve over 2,000 in just one night.

The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame is located in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. It features more than 100 inductees. Well-known names include country music legend George Strait and 9-time world champion rodeo cowboy.
You can also visit the Frontier Times Museum located in the Cowboy capital of the world. You certainly don’t want to miss The Fort Worth Stockyards while celebrating the American cowboy. It was named “The best tribute event” by American Cowboy Magazine. If you are ready for some live rodeo action head over to the historic Cowtown Coliseum of the Forth Worth Stockyards. There’s nothing that says cowboy better than hopping on horseback for a trail ride.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN…WITH LITTLE TEXAS

Country Band: Little Texas

On the road again….

Back in the 90s Little Texas took the country world by storm. Selling over 7 million albums, receiving 3 Grammy nominations plus honors from both the Academy of Country Music (Vocal Group Of The Year) and the Country Music Association (Album Of The Year). Their first radio release in 1991, “Some Guys Have All The Love,” became a Top-10 hit, as did their next single, “First Time For Everything.

The band toured with fellow musicians such as Clint Black, Trisha Yearwood, Tim McGraw and Travis Tritt. Little Texas broke a record in country music history. They had three different songs on three different charts with three different lead singers, all at the same time. It is a feat that has never been repeated since by any band.

In 1997 the band decided to take a  Hiatus after years of touring and producing. They each worked on individual projects and spent time with family and friends. In 2004 the four original members rebuilt the franchise with a new sound. This year, Little Texas is breaking new sonic ground with the release of their 8th album, Young For A Long Time https://www.littletexasonline.com/music

Little Texas always knows the number one job is to consistently deliver to the fan base that they’ve acquired over the years. Their meet and greets, VIP fan club and consistent communication through social media https://www.facebook.com/littletexasband/ allows the fans to stay connected to the band. You can catch Little Texas touring with some of their country musicians in a town near you this summer.
