Summer Concerts At Second & Greene

J. Marc Bailey and Donny Watts of Downhill Slide Band

Concert Review: Second & Greene Concert Series

You could definitely feel that fall was in the air on September 30th in North Carolina, but that didn’t stop anyone from attending the last outdoor concert for the summer season at  Second and Green Tavern. Donny Watts & Downhill Slide with a special performance by Conquer artist, J. Marc Bailey, were the evenings headline acts, and drew in a very diverse crowd from country fans, bikers, college students, local patrons and even a coffee shop and restaurant owner all the way down from Virginia.

Second and Green Tavern, located in Winston-Salem, is known as the neighborhood place to be and they packed in a crowd. Even though it was a chilly night, these boys certainly heated up the stage. One of the highlights of the evening was the acoustic set performed by Donny Watts and J. Marc Bailey on guitar, and Don Sr. on harmonica.

After speaking with J. Marc, he was thankful and appreciative to work with incredible professionals. The Downhill Slide Band had only one rehearsal with the country artist and did an amazing job representing his original music. The band covered country western hits and original music from The Blues, Country and Rock pleasing the crowd. The last song of the evening, “I Can’t Stop You” performed by J. Marc Bailey, received an overwhelming response from the crowd which confirmed his decision to make the song his next single to be released.

Two weeks today, on the night of October 1, 2017, a gunman opened fire on a large crowd of concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, leaving 58 people dead and hundreds injured. This happened between 10:05 and 10:15 p.m. PDT. Everyone of us can visualize ourselves being in an open field listening to our favorite band. Whether you are a Country, rock, hip hop, pop, reggae, blues fan. We are all one. The music world is a small group of individuals that connects us all. Maren Morris, who performed at Route 91 on Sept. 30, wrote the song with Tom Douglas and David Hodges in 2015, two days after a gunman killed nine parishioners at a Charleston, South Carolina, but had struggled with the right time to release it. The song features lyrics by Vince Gill.

” Our hearts are broken for all the families that lost a loved one. We pray for those that where at the scene and we thank all those that ran in to help others. “ – Michele Molinaro

We asked Dawn and Rik where did the concept come from?
“Rik indio was the Producer of the audiovisual through his company Rik Indio Films.  He wanted to transport us to the lushness of the tropics to show us the sensual side of love by incorporating the bedroom scenes and play of lights to act out the steamy lyrics of the song.  But he also exposes us to the vulnerable and tender side of love by letting us experience the intimacy in a couple who feels content reading a book, the tenderness of a woman helping her man shave and the longing  this man lives in missing that special someone even when he is trying to forget her by being with other people but he finds that impossible.

“Tu Sabes Bien” spawned a behinds the scenes video and a video exclusive made to feature and showcase Motives as the cosmetics brand which was used on both the artist and models.   Motives was been given special placing to ensure branding and “Music Meets Lifestyle” with Conquer Entertainment in all social media campaigns.”

Hey Y’all: Celebrating Country!

Dust off your cowboy boots, pull out your hats get ready for some good country music with a side of BBQ to celebrate National Cowboy Day! July 22nd was the day for celebrating the western lifestyle, and honoring cowboy roots. We are going to the place that has it all “TEXAS”!

Country music is not hard to find in Texas. There are however some historical locations that make you feel like everybody is somebody. That is right I am talking about Luckenbach. Know for its old west style saloon, dance hall & general store located in Fredericksburg, TX. It all started back in the summer of  1973 when Jerry Jeff Walker, along with the Lost Gonzo Band, recorded the live album Viva Terlingua at the Luckenbach dance hall. The album became an outlaw country classic. Later in 1977, after Crouch’s death in 1976, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson vaulted Luckenbach in the national spotlight with the #1 country and #25 Pop charting song “Luckenbach, Texas” (Back to the basics of Love)

Texas barbecue has no peer on earth. Usually they are small establishments with little décor but the warmest atmosphere and delicious food that will have you coming back to savor over and over. Once in a while you will find them located out in a field with picnic tables seating over 800 and a barbeque sauce that has no tomatoes so it won’t burn. The Salt Lick has over 50 years’ experience cooking their slowly over an open fire fed by live oak. On a Saturday night you may have a little bit of a wait they serve over 2,000 in just one night.

The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame is located in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. It features more than 100 inductees. Well-known names include country music legend George Strait and 9-time world champion rodeo cowboy.
You can also visit the Frontier Times Museum located in the Cowboy capital of the world. You certainly don’t want to miss The Fort Worth Stockyards while celebrating the American cowboy. It was named “The best tribute event” by American Cowboy Magazine. If you are ready for some live rodeo action head over to the historic Cowtown Coliseum of the Forth Worth Stockyards. There’s nothing that says cowboy better than hopping on horseback for a trail ride.

BROADWAY HERE SHE COMES!

Singer Songwriter: Jeneen Terrana

Jeneen Terrana just spent the last two months performing in her very first play the Shakespeare production – Macbeth! It makes perfect sense she would fit well into the Broadway scene. She spent her life listening to her Sicilian Grandfather act out full operas every Sunday around the dinner table.  He would play every role and on occasion ask Jeneen to jump in and play a character.
When asked if she would like to play the role of one of the witches of Macbeth she jumped at the chance. The director was pushing the envelope with his version of Macbeth. Rather than the stage being set in cold, foggy Scotland, a place whose spirit seems to permeate the play, it was being re-set on a tropical island in the Pacific. Jeneen was cast for the role of Kaiwhatu (a Maori name) that translate as the Three Fates in Greek mythology. They embody the spirit world of the island’s indigenous people. The performance was held in Brooklyn at the Theater 2020116 Pierrepont St. BrooklynNY and Cadman Plaza ParkBrooklynNY  Jeneen is currently auditioning for future roles in other plays.  You can Watch the Trailer and Visit the Theater on Facebook

Jeneen will also be in the studio recording some tracks for songwriter Dennis Bergman’s upcoming album. They will be performing together July 26 At The Ridge 1281 Salt Springs Rd Chittenango, NY. She will perform a duet show with Silbin Sandovar Aug 2 in Queens. Then a show with her band for the Queens of Queens festival on August 27th. Make sure to also stay connected to her schedule of events on her website. She’s been writing some brand-new tracks, and is looking forward to recording a new album this fall.
